Student's Pass
International students accepted into eligible full-time study in Singapore generally need to apply for a Student's Pass.
Requirements vary according to the type of educational institution.
Students should confirm that the selected institution and course are eligible for international enrolment before preparing the Student's Pass application.
Working while studying
CURRENT GUIDANCE
Eligible Student's Pass holders at approved institutions may work up to 16 hours per week during the school term without a separate work pass. Eligibility and individual conditions apply.
Singapore permits qualifying Student's Pass holders at specified institutions to work during the school term without a separate work pass where the current eligibility requirements are met.
For ordinary part-time employment, the current limit is up to 16 hours per week.
Qualifying industrial attachments or internships that form part of the student's course may be treated differently.
Students must confirm that both their institution and planned work meet the current Ministry of Manpower conditions.
After graduation
A Student's Pass does not itself provide an ongoing right to work in Singapore after study.
Once the Student's Pass expires, a graduate who wishes to work in Singapore will generally need an appropriate work pass, normally applied for by the employer.
Some graduates of eligible institutes of higher learning may have separate immigration options while seeking employment, but eligibility must be confirmed against current Singapore rules.

Tuition, accommodation, insurance, travel and day-to-day living costs vary by institution, program, location and personal circumstances.
